Over 23.000 € donated after 2020 sales of special brushes and shears
We did it again: A meaningful donation of 23.094 EUR to Think Pink Europe for their fight against breast cancer! In 2018, we had teamed up with Think Pink for the first time to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. The launch of a Limited Think Pink Edition of our most famous tools – with striking success for a good cause.
Whether at the office or at home, the Olivia Garden team and partners worked hard this year again to raise more than 23.000€ for the fight against breast cancer. We revamped our famous NanoThermic brushes and the bestselling SilkCut in a gorgeous Pink and Silver limited edition. For every brush sold, Olivia Garden donated 1 Euro and for each Shear Kit, 5 Euros were given to Think Pink.
Hairdressers all over Europe took the opportunity in 2020 again, to get great brushes and shears but also to support charity: Despite the Corona virus situation, this year again let to a great success; the tools were quickly sold out during October the Month of Breast Cancer Awareness .
Four clearly stated goals define Think Pink: informing people, raising awareness, financing scientific research and supporting projects involving care and follow-up care – to not give breast cancer any chance.
“Think Pink Europe strives to close the health gap in our continent, to make sure that every person affected by breast cancer has the same chances, no matter their country of residence. We want to ensure that new therapies and medicines are available for everybody and that breast cancer patients are treated optimally”, Jürgen Vanpraet, managing director of Think Pink Europe, stated. “We still have to face many challenges, but thanks to the support of valuable partners such as Olivia Garden, we are making a difference. Let’s continue to work together!”
It lies in our values as Olivia Garden to give back to the community and make people happy, like it is the hairdressers’ everyday goal to put a smile in the face of their customers with the support of our tools.
“We are proud to be working with Think Pink again to help in the fight against breast cancer”, said our General Manager, Kai Ziekursch. “The deliberate work of Think Pink all over Europe impresses and inspires us a lot. Our goal was to help the foundation again this year, and we are very happy with the result given the circumstances of the Covid crisis. Thanks to our customers who have been very supportive and committed to the cause, this is again a great success! We are already looking forward to the 2021 Edition, and we hope we will be even more successful in fighting breast cancer together.”
“Every year in Europe 500,000 women receive the news that they have breast cancer. It’s an honor for us to contribute to the fight and support them as we can with the donation. We are proud to be part of this cause and to collaborate with Think Pink, which is doing an incredible and exemplary job.”, André Harms, our General Manager, said.
Olivia Garden also supported the organization by providing shears and brushes to hairdressers that are taking part in actions all over Belgium, where women can donate their hair for the making of wigs for breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Olivia Garden also supports events like the “Race for the Cure”, the world’s most significant walking and running event in the fight against breast cancer, that took place digitally this year due to Corona.
We are already working on next year’s limited edition and are looking forward to partnering again with Think Pink Europe to raise awareness in Europe.
For 2021, we have something even more special planned to support Think Pink… stay tuned!
